Rose Strings

Frequently Asked QUestions

Q. Where are you based?
A. Cincinnati/ Dayton/ Springfield/Northern Kentucky

Q. Will you travel outside your performing radius?
A. The current IRS mileage rate will be charged per player from the furthest point we play without charging mileage to your event destination. Please get in touch with us with your specific location.

Q. What time will you be arriving at the ceremony?
A. We will arrive to set up about 30 minutes before we are scheduled to begin playing.

Q. I am having an outdoor wedding. Will you need amplification?
A. If amplification is needed, it is considered the client’s responsibility.

Q. I am having an outdoor wedding. Will you still be able to play if it is raining?
A. No. Due to the nature of our instruments, we cannot risk them getting wet. Our best advice for an outdoor wedding is to have an adequately covered area determined for musicians, such as a covered patio or gazebo.

Q. Your contract mentions extreme heat as a condition of not performing at an outdoor wedding. Are you going to leave us without music at our wedding?
A. We will remain as flexible as possible! We are not challenging to work with, but we need covering from extreme heat because our instruments are sensitive to heat and moisture.

Q. How long have you been playing together?
A. We have been together as an ensemble since 2002.

Q. What happens if one of you is sick?
A. If one of the Rosé Strings members is sick or unavailable, we have regular substitutes we call on. We trust our substitutes to play at the highest level.

Q. Do you work with other musicians?
A. Yes, we work with other musicians and even have some recommendations for other instrumentalists if you need them.

Q. Do you come to the rehearsal?
A. For an additional fee of $100, an ensemble representative can come to your rehearsal. The representatives will not be playing any music at this time; they will just be there to help make sure the ceremony runs smoothly. Having someone at the rehearsal is unnecessary, but some people feel more comfortable having one of us attend.

Q. Can we meet to discuss music?
A. We find it sufficient to discuss details and choose music over the phone and email. If you need assistance choosing music, please see our selection of sample programs or call us for assistance.

Q. Do you pick the music, or do we?
A. Some people have a vast knowledge of classical music and want to pick every piece. Others know very little about classical music and want us to pick the music. You can pick some music and have us fill in the rest. It is up to you.

Q. How much of a deposit do we have to send?
A. We require a $100 retainer fee and the balance minus the retainer will be due a month prior to the event.

Q. We really want to hire the ensemble. What do we do now?
A. Call or email Yoshi Kunimitsu to confirm availability. If the trio is available, you can download a copy of the contract and send it to Yoshi Kunimitsu with the payment. She will contact you when it is received.

Q. We are filling out the contract and do not know the songs we want to be played. Can we leave those blank for now?
A. You can leave the song selections blank for now, and we can fill those in later. Right now, the most important information for me is on the bottom half of the sheet.

Q. I have another question not listed here. How can I get all the answers I need?
A. please get in touch with us if you have questions that were not answered above.
